Gran Reserva 890 is named, rather confusingly, after the date of the creation of La Rioja Alta (1890). It is the non-plus-ultra of the family, a wine that slumbers patiently for six years in oak, then is allowed to rest in bottle for a few more years before its released.

This vintage is among the finest of the 21st century - with ideal weather conditions and low yields. The grapes ripened slowly and evenly thanks to sunny mornings and cool nights, resulting in small, loose clusters with delicate berries. With its unmistakable Atlantic influence, this vintage has produced exceptional wines possessing both freshness and complexity, perfect for extended ageing.

It has earned the official rating of Excellent.

Tasting Note: Its elegant and sophisticated character is highlighted by a medium garnet red colour and a touch of iodine on the rim of the glass. With refined tannins and a delicate freshness, this wine offers an elegant and delightful taste. Its bouquet is classic Rioja, broad, complex, and balanced with a refined finish, ensuring a long aging potential for this Gran Reserva 890.
