An old grape variety which is only used by 5 producers in Portugal.

Avesso is a variety with high potential that is rarely realised, so it is great to see it shine here. Intense and slightly off dry, though there's terrific freshness. Concentrated and surprisingly powerful on the palate. Creamy citrus with a taut stony intensity. A hint of vegetal character but also a little peppery. As it opens up, there's an impressive amount of fruit flavour for what is otherwise a very restrained wine.
