Madre Mezcal is produced by the Morales family just outside San Dionisio in Oaxaca. Espadín and Cuishe agave are cooked over hot stones in earthen pits, crushed using a traditional stone wheel, fermented in open-air wood containers with wild yeast and distilled with wood fires.
A rich, smoky, mineral, herbal and creamy mezcal that really is captivating. Perfect for sipping in summer as an Islay Single Malt substitute, or for margheritas with a whiff of smoke. Delicious.
