2020 Domaine de l'Hortus 'Bergerie de L`Hortus' Rouge
Vineyards with parcels situated on low foothills with brown, limestone-based soil sourced from Cretaceous-era scree. Slopes range from 10-30% in altitude from 150-200 meters.
Grapes are harvested, de-stemmed and crushed before 10-30 days' maceration in vats, depending on the grapes' ripeness. Subsequently, Grenache and Syrah grapes are then aged in vats for 12 months, while Mourvèdre is aged in 2-wine oak casks.
