The Wines of Italy
Italy boasts a diverse wine culture with over 500 grape varieties. We certainly don't have all of them on our shelves... but we've got a strong collection nonetheless!
Tuscany is renowned for Sangiovese, the backbone of Chianti, featuring cherry, leather, and earthy flavours. Piedmont offers the noble Nebbiolo, producing Barolo and Barbaresco wines with rose, tar, black olive, and red fruit notes. Veneto is famous for Prosecco, a sparkling wine with crisp apple and pear flavours. Sicily’s Nero d’Avola delivers robust red wines with blackberry and spice, while Venezia is celebrated for its Pinot Grigio, offering crisp citrus and green apple characteristics. That's without mentioning Cortese, Primitivo, Negroamaro, Verdicchio, Garganega, Grillo, and plenty of others!
