Tempranillo

Tempranillo is Spain’s premier red grape, most famously grown in Rioja and Ribera del Duero.

Rioja Tempranillo is known for its elegance and aging potential, with flavours of strawberry, plum, and leather, often enhanced by vanilla and spice from different levels of oak aging. Ribera del Duero produces more robust Tempranillo wines with darker fruit, firmer tannins, and a higher aging potential. In Portugal, where it’s known as Tinta Roriz or Aragonez, it contributes to the complex blends of Port and still red wines, offering rich fruit and spice.
