Cantine Povero | Italy

Nestled in the picturesque regions of Roero, Monferrato, and Langhe, the family-run estates of Cantine Povero and Cascina Vengore have been producing outstanding wines for nearly 200 years.

Cantine Povero, established in 1948 by Grandfather Tumlin, continues a family winemaking tradition that dates back to 1837. Located in the rolling hills of Piedmont, this winery is dedicated to sustainability and organic farming. In 2019, Cantine Povero achieved full organic certification for its 50 hectares of vineyards, ensuring that every bottle is crafted without chemicals.

Cascina Vengore is a natural amphitheatre in the heart of Terre Alfieri in Piemonte, a small DOCG that perfectly combines the best of Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato. This estate spans 26 hectares in a single plot around a traditional Piedmontese farmhouse and is a realm of biodiversity with 100% organic cultivation. Cascina Vengore specialises in three indigenous grape varieties: Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Arneis.

The dream of Cascina Vengore is brought to life by Lucrezia Povero, a young vigneron who, alongside her sisters Maurizia and Letizia, explores new expressions of the land they were born and raised in.
