2015 Terre de Gneiss
This is an intense and vital wine and like so many biodynamic wines, it has a strong, ripe apple fruit character as well as density, a truly satisfying texture and a hint of this season`s most fashionable ingredient, salinity. The long finish is satisfyingly dry and we`d be happy to recommend it for drinking over the next year or even two.
50 year old Muscadet vines planted on Gneiss soil in the commune of Monnieres, and produced biodynamically by hand and then fermented and aged in a concrete egg. The vineyard and the egg both belong to Christelle, long-time wine writer for Decanter magazine. The wine sits on lees for 5 months prior to bottling and she only produces around 2000 bottles each vintage.
