The Tonschiefer Riesling is sourced primarily from the upper slopes of Oberhäuser Leistenberg, just a stone’s throw from the Dönnhoff family estate. Here, 25- to 45-year-old vines thrive in steep, slate-rich soils. Grapes are meticulously handpicked and gently pressed before fermenting and maturing in a mix of stainless steel tanks and large oak casks. This traditional yet precise approach ensures the wine retains its vibrant fruit character and hallmark slate-derived minerality.
