2022 Domaine Sylvain Dussort Bourgogne Blanc 'Cuvée des Ormes'

£35.00

From a long line of winemakers and coopers based in Meursault, Sylvain took over the estate in 1982 with his wife, and the property where his grandparents used to live. Over the years, the estate has expanded with the acquisition of new vineyards, as well as the modernization and enlargement of the existing winery buildings. His daughter Anne Caroline has now taken over as head winemaker.

Two batches are selected and vinified separately. One vat is made from vines aged 15 to over 25 years, the “Cuvée des Coutures”; and a second from vines between 35 to over 60 years, the “Cuvée des Ormes”.

Harvested by hand, the wine is aged for 12 months in barrels on the lees.

Tasting Note: This wine has similar characteristics to its “big brother”, the Meursault. Delicate, rich and elegant, with good length. It should be drunk after 2 to 6 years, but can be kept longer depending on the vintage and storage conditions.

Origin: Burgundy, France

Blend: Chardonnay

Domaine Sylvain Dussort

From a long line of winemakers and coopers based in Meursault, Sylvain took over the estate in 1982 with his wife, and the property where his grandparents used to live. Their daughter Anne Caroline has now taken over as head winemaker. They cultivate an area of 6 hectares. The grapes are the historic Bourgogne varietals; Aligoté and Chardonnay for the white wines, and Pinot Noir for the red wines.
