The 2018 Chateau Musar Red is an exceptional expression of the Bekaa Valley’s dynamic climate, where a blend of timely rain and intense summer heat shaped a wine of unique character.

Originating from vineyards that benefit from abundant winter moisture and a dramatic summer heatwave, this vintage captures the essence of its terroir. The grapes—an equal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan—are carefully selected and fermented with their natural yeasts in concrete vats.

Following a 12-month maturation in French Nevers oak barrels, the varietals were blended in January 2021 and bottled without fining or filtration. This meticulous process preserves the wine’s natural complexity and highlights the delicate balance achieved through rigorous vinification.

Deep garnet in colour, the wine opens with aromas of dried cherries and mature red fruits. On the palate, it is rich and concentrated, revealing layers of cranberries, raisins, and dates, complemented by soft liquorice undertones and fine tannins. At six years of age upon release, it is already displaying remarkable development.

Pairing Suggestions: Excellent with grilled meats, roast chicken, or Mediterranean dishes that mirror its rich, smoky complexity.
