2021 Paper Road Borthwick Pinot Noir

£17.95

Added to the range in December 2023, the wines from Borthwick Vineyards have become firm favourites with staff and customers.

This wine exhibits everything you could want from a New Zealand Pinot and for considerably less than £20 per bottle!

Temperature controlled fermentation using only natural yeasts, combined with hand plunging to optimise the fruit and tannin balance. Following extended post-ferment maceration on skins the wine was drained and pressed to barrel.

Aged in French oak, in a combination of new and old barrels.

There's rigorous barrel selection and blending to ensure a beautifully balanced wine.

Tasting Note: >The elegant aroma of dark plums and ripe cherries pairs with hints of thyme and toasted nuts. Deep notes of dark cherry, cloves, and wild herbs are framed by the bright fruit and French oak, creating a harmonious blend of spicy and fruity flavours with seamlessly integrated tannins.

Origin: Wairarapa, New Zealand

Blend: Pinot Noir

Borthwick Vineyards

Established in 1996, proudly family owned and operated, Borthwick Vineyard produces wines that embody the essence of the Gladstone region in New Zealand.

The wines are a direct reflection of the ancient stony, alluvial soils, cool climate, and sustainable practices that are meticulously followed in the vineyard and winery.

When Paddy is not busy traveling, marketing or managing family farm responsibilities, he still takes pleasure in personally overseeing the vineyard and winery. With 39 vintages under his belt, his instinctive winemaking approach and willingness to take risks have resulted in exceptional wines that stand out from the rest.
