2023 Chateau Puybarbe Annabel Rosé

£13.95

This 2023 Château Puybarbe Annabel Rosé is a bright and refreshing expression of Côtes de Bourg, blending equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to deliver vibrant red-berry aromas and crisp citrus acidity.

The Annabel Rosé is crafted from a roughly 50/50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are harvested at peak ripeness and gently pressed to extract pale, aromatic juice.

Annabel Rosé stands apart for its harmonious balance of red-currant brightness and zesty lemon-lime lift. Its name celebrates both the château’s heritage and the refreshing elegance that modern rosé lovers crave. With its lively, small-batch production and estate-grown fruit, this is a rosé that captures the essence of Bordeaux summer.

Pairing Suggestions: Ideal with Niçoise salad, grilled prawns, summer charcuterie boards, or simply enjoyed as a chilled aperitif on a warm afternoon.

Tasting Note: Pale salmon hue with pronounced red-berry aromas of red currant and raspberry; the palate is crisp and refreshing, featuring bright citrus acidity and a clean, persistent finish.

Chateau Puybarbe

Château Puybarbe sits at the heart of Côtes de Bourg, where three parallel ridges carve the landscape along the Gironde estuary. Known since at least 1895 for its vineyards, and evoking centuries of history through its 15th?century engravings, the château has flourished under the Orlandi family since 1952. Today, Riku and Anna Väänänen are writing the next chapter in its rich tapestry.

From its lofty vantage point on the third ridge, the estate benefits from perfect drainage, ample sunshine, and cooling estuary breezes. This “Small Switzerland” terroir, coupled with meticulous vineyard care, ensures that every vintage reflects both the grandeur of the land and the passion of its custodians.
