2013 Mouchao Tinto, Alentejo, Portugal

£46.00

Since the 1st bottle of Mouchao was sold in 1954 this has been the estates flagship wine. Deep, rich, concentrated, velvety dark fruit, liquorice tinged goodness. Alicante Bouschet is the mainstay of the blend with a little Trincadeira thrown in for good measure. The blend spends 24 months in oak and mahogany vats before a further 3 years in bottle before release. Drink immediately or cellar for 10+ years and allow the wine to evolve into something truly majestic. If you like Châteauneuf, this is a great alternative.
