2017 Harewood Estate Semillon/Sauvignon Reserve, Western Australia
A blend of 54% Semillon and 46% Sauvignon Blanc, the fruit for this wine comes from the higher altitude, cool climate vineyards of the coastal region in Denmark, Western Australia. Aromatics on the nose combine the quince and lemons of Semillon with the vibrant, herbaceous gooseberry and green pea of cool climate Sauvignon Blanc. On the palate, mouth-watering citrus fruits are balanced by hints of more tropical passionfruit. An underlying flinty complexity is complemented by the subtle texture of French oak and a long, lingering finish of crisp grapefruit acidity.
