2018 Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz
The Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz is a renowned expression of the Barossa Valley, as evidenced by its origin from the oldest vineyards in the region, planted in 1893. Its excellence is celebrated around the world, as it is widely regarded as a benchmark for premium Barossa Shiraz.
For decades, other Barossa wineries had made use of the grapes from this famed old vineyard to create their highest quality reds and fortified wines.
When the Kaesler family moved to the Barossa and heard of the vineyard's exceptional offerings, they were able to acquire a portion of the grapes and craft the inaugural Kaesler Old Bastard. After tasting the results, Kaesler set out to purchase the vineyard, and thus the Kaesler Old Bastard was born.
