The 2010 Château d'Angludet is a refined expression of Margaux, where poised structure meets generous fruit. Decades of careful restoration under the Sichel family and the estate’s gravelly terroir deliver a wine of aromatic finesse, admirable balance and genuine ageing potential.

This wine is a truly special combination of meticulous vineyard work and traditional winemaking that favours clarity and longevity. Hand-sorted fruit, low yields and a strict selection programme produce a composed, layered Bordeaux that rewards the patience in the cellar it has enjoyed and offers a polished drinking experience now.

Winemaking:

Vinification follows a classic route: grapes are fermented in cement vats with vatting periods of 20–30 days depending on the parcel and vintage. After malolactic conversion the wine matures for 12 months in oak barrels, one third of which are renewed annually. The final blend is chosen after careful tastings the following spring; wines are fined and very lightly filtered before being bottled at the château.

Pairing Suggestions:

Pairs with roasted lamb or slow-cooked beef and, for vegetarians, with mushroom risotto or grilled aubergine dishes; also sits well with aged hard cheeses such as Comté or Manchego.

Tasting Note:

A fragrant nose of violet, raspberry and blackcurrant with a hint of gravelly minerality; the palate is sumptuous yet focused, with fine woven tannins and a long, savoury finish.
