Step forward the "Perfection of Pauillac" in the second wine of the imperious Château Haut-Bages Liberal: La Chapelle de Haut-Bages Liberal Pauillac.
The Libéral family has managed Château Haut-Bages Libéral for over 200 years, and the name "Haut-Bages" comes from a part of the historic vineyard located on the highest point of the Bages appellation, which constitutes one of the highest quality terroirs of the appellation.
Today, with approximately 30 hectares under vine, the Haut-Bages Libéral vineyard benefits from unique climatic conditions. Clay-limestone soils, as well as the proximity of the Gironde, give the wines depth, richness and complexity typical of the appellation.
Tasting Note: The 2020 vintage is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon & 40% Merlot, providing us with trademark aromas of cassis & graphite, before delectable flecks of warm baking spices, blackberry and vanilla provided a sumptuous crescendo.
