2014 Champagne Bollinger La Grande Année

£145.00

La Grande Année is the very embodiment of an exceptional, timeless champagne. Artisanal savoir-faire is at the heart of its production. One such artisanal technique is vinification, which takes place in oak barrels that are around 20 years old. This helps the wine develop complex aromas, and, thanks to micro-oxygenation, lends an extraordinary ageing potential.

At Bollinger, the 2014 vintage gave rise to a precise, fine and complex wine thanks to its minerality and exceptional intensity.

Tasting Note: The initial sensation is a fine and intense effervescence, followed by a wonderful vinosity, and then balanced with delicate acidity. Its very fine texture and sea-air finish bring excellent length on the palate, accompanied by a delicate minerality and the complex flavours of orchard fruit and citrus. This wine unfurls gradually, revealing its full potential and intensity.

Origin: Champagne, France

Champagne Bollinger

Champagne Bollinger is a prestigious, family-owned house with nearly 200 years of winemaking history. Known for its bold, refined, and complex wines, Bollinger specialises in Pinot Noir, which makes up over 60% of its vineyards, giving the champagnes structure and depth. The house owns exceptional Grand and Premier Cru vineyards and follows traditional winemaking techniques, including fermenting in oak barrels and ageing reserve wines in magnums, a unique practice that enhances the complexity of their non-vintage blends.

Bollinger also prioritises time, ageing its wines far longer than the Champagne standard to develop greater flavour and finesse. This long ageing process produces fine bubbles, a creamy texture, and wines with impressive longevity. From the rich Special Cuvée to the prestigious Bollinger R.D., each bottle offers a luxurious and memorable tasting experience, reflecting the house’s dedication to quality and tradition.
