2017 Chateau Feytit-Guillot Pomerol

£38.00

Refined, Quietly Exceptional Pomerol

The 2017 Château Feytit-Guillot is a poised Pomerol that balances classic Bordeaux structure with a fresh, floral lift. From a tiny 1.3 hectare holding on the Pomerol plateau, this vintage delivers concentration without excess, making it an elegant choice for both cellar and table.

Winemaking:

The fruit is hand-picked from seven small parcels across the plateau and brought to the winery for traditional vinification. Fermentation is handled with care to preserve aromatic purity, followed by an élevage of 14 months in oak barrels which rounds the tannins and adds subtle complexity while keeping the wine understated and focused.

Pairing Suggestions:

Pairs with mushroom risotto or grilled aubergine for vegetarians, and with roast duck, slow-cooked lamb shoulder or a selection of charcuterie and mature cheeses for meat dishes.

Tasting Note:

Fresh on the nose with red cherry and violet floral notes, the palate is medium-bodied with silky Merlot fruit, fine-grained tannins and a mineral-tinged finish that lingers with subtle spice.

Origin:

Pomerol, Bordeaux, France

Alcohol:

13.5%

Blend:

Merlot, Cabernet Franc

Chateau Feytit-Guillot

Château Feytit-Guillot is a rare, tiny estate of just 1.3 hectares carved up into seven discrete parcels across the Pomerol plateau. Its location, bordering renowned neighbours on a mix of gravel, sand and clay soils, gives the wines a compelling combination of richness and minerality. The estate’s modest size allows for meticulous attention in the vineyard and a hands-on, artisanal approach in the cellar.

Working largely with mature vines, the team hand-harvests each parcel to ensure optimal ripeness and parcel expression. Winemaking is deliberately traditional: gentle extraction during fermentation and an élevage in oak for around 14 months produces wines that are pure, restrained and reflective of true Pomerol character.
