This 2023 Les Coteaux Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Rouge is a classic Rhône blend that marries brambly Grenache intensity with Syrah’s spice, delivering a wine of immediate charm and layered depth.

Maison Boutinot sources only the finest Grenache and Syrah from named Rhône Villages, then enriches the blend with small quantities of barrel-aged wine from Sablet and Séguret.

After combining selected parcels, the grapes undergo cold maceration on skins for several hours before low-temperature fermentation in stainless steel. Approximately 15% of the cuvée is matured in new and older oak barrels for up to 20 months, adding subtle oak spice without overwhelming the vibrant fruit.

Les Coteaux stands out for its “village-first” approach, sourcing from 17 named Villages to craft a Côtes du Rhône Villages that rivals single-village bottlings. The addition of Séguret and Sablet barrel-lots lends extra structure and nuance, making this wine both immediately approachable and ageworthy.
