2024 Tenuta Larame Terre del Conte Arneis

£16.95

The 2024 Terre del Conte Roero Arneis is a floral, medium-bodied white that captures the ancient pedigree of “Nebbiolo Bianco,” offering bright orchard fruit and a delicate almond-kissed finish.

Cantine Povero’s organic Roero estate, where Langhe meets Monferrato, spans 35ha of sandy, well?drained soils ideally suited to Arneis.

Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed before cool fermentation in stainless steel. The wine ages 2–3 months on fine lees to round the palate, then is bottled without fining to preserve its tactile freshness.

Arneis offers a captivating bouquet of fresh hay, peach, pear and lime, underpinned by persistent almond notes. Cantine Povero’s stewardship and organic practices yield a wine of both purity and depth.

Pairing Suggestions: Light hors d’oeuvres, pureed vegetable soups, lemon/garlic fish, vegetarian pasta primavera, fresh goat’s cheese or Asian dishes like chicken broccoli stir-fry.

Tasting Note: Pale straw with floral and fruity aromas of white peach, pippin apple and pineapple; the palate is dry, delicate and mineral-driven, finishing long with an almond flourish.

Cantine Povero

On a foundation built by Nonno Tumlin’s passion in 1837, Cantine Povero has grown into a 50 ha organic and regenerative powerhouse in Piedmont. Embracing cover crops, solar panels and no?chemicals, the estate protects its ancient well and revitalises soils with legumes and einkorn to support a rich biodiversity of birds, frogs and beneficial insects.

Under the watchful eye of the fourth and fifth generations, the vineyards are manually tended, where canopy work, leaf thinning, and careful yield control ensure grapes are harvested at optimum maturity. In the cellar, native yeasts and gentle extraction underscore Cantine Povero’s ethos: wines of purity, precision and profound connection to their terroir.
