2022 Lanzerac KURKTREKKER Cinsault
Introducing 'Kurktrekker', which in Afrikaans means 'corkscrew'.
The wine takes its name from 'Jonkershoek Kurktrekkers Neck', a well-known and distinctive mountain route in the Jonkershoek Valley, the birthplace of Lanzerac. This route, resembling a corkscrew, connects the first and second waterfalls to the Panorama Route.
The wine was made using whole bunch fermentation in open tanks with twice daily punch downs, and a gentle pressing with a small basket press ensure soft, silky tannins. After approximately a year of maturation in older French oak barrels the wine was bottled.
Tasting Note: The KURKTREKKER has a floral nose with earthy undertones. The palate is silky with an understated length on the palate.
