Introducing the 2022 Domaine Marc Roy Bourgogne Rouge, a village-level Pinot Noir of exceptional pedigree. Crafted from a single 0.5 ha block of 50-year-old vines in Gevrey-Chambertin, this Bourgogne Rouge delivers plush texture, refined structure and nuanced red-berry character.

What distinguishes this Bourgogne Rouge is its pedigree and precision: old-vine fruit yields concentrated flavours, while minimal intervention preserves purity. The wine offers silky tannins, subtle spice and a lingering finish, making it an outstanding value for both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.

Winemaking:

Grapes are hand-harvested from a single Gevrey-Chambertin block and fully destemmed. Indigenous yeasts drive a cool fermentation with gentle punch-downs to extract delicate colour and aroma. After malolactic conversion, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (33% new) to build texture without overwhelming the fruit.

Pairing Suggestions:

This supple Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck breast and blackberry jus or a classic coq au vin. Vegetarian options include mushroom bourguignon or creamy polenta topped with wild mushrooms and thyme.

Tasting Note:

The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge shows bright cherry and wild strawberry on the nose, with subtle notes of rose petal and forest floor. On the palate it is silky and precise with red currant and pomegranate framed by fine tannins, leading to a fresh, mineral-driven finish.
