2023 Broadbent Architect Cabernet Sauvignon

£27.00

Crafted as a homage to Bartholomew's father, Michael Broadbent, The Architect pays tribute to his multifaceted legacy. Before delving into winemaking, Michael trained as an architect, instilling in him a deep appreciation for structure, balance, and beauty. Just as Michael's diverse artistic endeavours illuminate his attention to detail, The Architect wine reflects his spirit of creativity and refinement.

Sourced from two vineyards in Alexander Valley, with vines between 10 to 15 years old. Vines are planted in a major mixture of mostly rocky and loam soils. The vineyards' loam soils help produce ripe clusters and complex wines, with moderate sized vines and clusters. Grapes were cold soaked for 4 days followed by a 7-day fermentation with cultured yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then transferred to 60 gallon oak barrels (75% French Oak and 25% Radoux American Oak) for aging before bottling.

Tasting Note: This Cabernet-dominated red has lush dark berry fruits with smooth, beautifully integrated tannins. Heady aromas of black cherry, cassis, ripe plums are nicely balanced with hints of spice and a long silky finish.

Origin: Alexander Valley, USA

Alcohol: 14.5%

Blend: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot

Broadbent Selections

Since they were founded in 1996, Broadbent Selections has been focused on family-owned wineries with personality and stories, where the wines come from the heart.

Quality and character, central to every project, is what makes a wine stand out and become worthy of the Broadbent family name.

To be selected, a wine must standout out, head and shoulders above the rest; its quality - and value - must bowl them over.

It’s been said that the difference between a good meal and a great meal is that, with the former, you finish the meal thinking, “The food was good”. With a great meal however, you think, “Life is good”. Broadbent wines gratify not just the palate, but the soul.
