Experience the captivating wine region of Hemel-en-Aarde Valley in South Africa, where the prestigious Cap Maritime winery resides on a ridge separating the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde from the rest of the valley.

This expertly crafted Pinot Noir is a true reflection of its origin, showcasing unique flavors from the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde appellation's Table Mountain sandstone and decomposed granite soils. 

The Pinot Noir was hand-picked and carefully selected before being transported in temperature-controlled trucks to the winery. Only the healthiest, whole berries were sorted and transferred to concrete fermentation tanks after a meticulous triage process. The majority of the grapes were destemmed, with a small portion of whole clusters remaining to add complexity. Spontaneous fermentation occurred, followed by a 14-month maturation in Stockinger 2,500L Foudre and new French Oak barriques, where a lengthy malolactic fermentation took place under cool temperatures.

Tasting Note: Indulge in a complex and bold palate with flavors of rich damson, espresso, and star anise. Velvety and balanced with fine tannins, our medium-bodied wine boasts a bouquet of forest fruits, rose petals, and exotic spices. The finish lingers with sultry notes of black plums, sweet tobacco, and hints of graphite and dark chocolate.
