2019 Finca Allende Rioja Blanco
The creative genius behind Finca Allende is Miguel Ángel de Gregorio, a visionary in the world of Rioja wine. The winery is located in Briones, situated on the picturesque banks of the Ebro river in Rioja Alta. The vineyards in this area are characterised by red clay and gravel, and face the northern direction for optimal grape growth.
Miguel's philosophy revolves around showcasing the unique qualities of each vineyard, rather than relying on barrel aging.
Made from mostly Viura and a touch of Malvasia from 55-year-old vines, this wine strikes the balance between ripe, fruity notes, and fresh acidity and structure. Fermented in French oak, it spends 7 months on lees, before spending a further 7 months in barrel, adding a luxurious texture to the wine.
Tasting Note: This richness is complemented by crisp notes of pink grapefruit, white nectarine and jasmine. Like no other Rioja Blanco we have had the pleasure of tasting.
