2023 Rockford Local Growers Semillon
This wine faithfully reflects the contributions made by generations of grape growing families to Rockford and the Barossa. Their knowledge, tenacity and commitment to the land ensure Semillon - a pioneer Barossa variety - has a viable future.
Because the grapes are hand picked, bunches are selected at different levels of ripeness. The early-picked grapes add acidity whilst the later-season ones bring more ripeness and fruitiness. The wine is matured in barrel and the combination of different sized oak casks, when finally blended, comes together to make a complex, textured and mouth-filling wine.
Tasting note: A subtly barrel-fermented dry white that offers zippy lemon curd and lime with delicate floral notes and a lively acidity. A well balanced and beautifully textured white.
