Planted in 2009, hillside location is situated within the serene Omaka Valley, 4km from the base.

Its ideal positioning on a northern-facing slope boasts undulating terrain and a diverse topography, with a shallow layer of topsoil from compacted wind-blown loess and clay loams. The steep incline allows for optimal sunlight capture, requiring early season irrigation as the vines mature. As the season progresses, irrigation is gradually reduced to enhance concentration.

This exquisite wine exhibits opulent notes of red berries and spice, enveloped in a smooth and velvety tannin structure.

The 2020 vintage of Marlborough with its warm growing season and minimal rainfall. Hand-picked and stored overnight to reduce fruit temperature, it was carefully sorted the next day. Destemming 70% and including 30% whole bunches, the wine underwent wild fermentation and an ambient soak. After combining free run and pressing, it aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (35% new).

Tasting Note: Lifted aromas of dark red and black fruits over a savoury, richly textured palate. A fruit profile and structure that shows the benefits of increasing vine age.
