2015 Holden Manz Cabernet Franc Reserve
Cabernet Franc is the main grape of one of the finest wines from Bordeaux, Château Cheval Blanc St Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé, priced at nearly £600/bottle.
Made by Corsican born winemaker Thierry Haberer, himself trained in Bordeaux, this wine has been released generously by Gerard Holden (owner) and are the only bottles in the UK.
A recent tasting note reads thus “There are not enough superlatives to describe this delicious masterpiece! Intense deep ruby red colour. A magnificently complex nose full of fruit with cherry, creamy blackcurrant and vanilla essence interchanging with hints of spice and leather. Beautiful taste - rich, fruit filled palate with a lingering creamy blackcurrant finish. Silky smooth tannins, perfectly balanced and integrated evolving with every sip”.
Tasting Note: Rich and elegant soft textured wine with predominant cassis and dark berries. Well balanced savoury flavours with good volume. Wood is well integrated, pleasantly subtle tannins. Balanced with a long finish with plenty of spice and mocha.
