Kurktrekker’s appeal lies in whole-bunch fermentation in open vessels, twice-daily punch-downs and a year in older French oak barrels. The result: delicate aromatics, earthy complexity and bright fruit that speak to Wynand Lategan’s experimental ethos.

Winemaking:

Harvested in March 2023, grapes undergo whole-cluster fermentation in open fermenters, with gentle punch-downs. Post-pressing, the wine matures for 12 months in seasoned oak, preserving freshness and silky texture.

Enjoy with rosemary roast lamb or charred eggplant. Vegetarian option: wild mushroom and thyme tart for an earthy complement.
