Presenting the 2023 Lanzerac PROF Cinsault Pinot Noir, a homage to Professor Perold’s original cross that birthed Pinotage. This KV range standout blends 54% Pinot Noir and 46% Cinsaut, revealing red-berry vibrancy and refined structure.

PROF is distinguished by its dual-valley sourcing with Pinot Noir from Upper Hemel-en-Aarde and Cinsaut from Jonkershoek. This a thought-provoking, cellar-worthy expression.

Winemaking:

Grapes are hand-picked in February (Cinsaut) and March (Pinot Noir) 2023. After separate fermentations, each wine matures in seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months, then blends and rests for a further 2–3 months before bottling.

Pairing Suggestions:

Enjoy with sesame-crusted seared tuna or herb-crusted rack of lamb and roasted root vegetables. Vegetarian pairing: wild mushroom risotto with Parmesan shavings.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, PROF 2023 exudes raspberry, cherry blossom and subtle earth. The palate is fresh and elegant strawberry, cranberry and gentle spice, finishing with smooth tannins and a persistent red-fruit echo.
