With nearly 1,000 hectares of land comprising the Vega Sicilia estate, 210 are dedicated to vine cultivation, encompassing nineteen unique types of soil and fifty-five distinctive plots. The intricate care of these soils is greatly impacted by the flow of the Douro River and the passage of time. A portion of 40 hectares is dedicated to crafting Unico.

This wine is most certainly a labour of love, undergoing an extensive ten-year maturation period in both new and used French and American oak barrels, as well as 22,000-litre vats. This intricate process imbues the wine with innumerable subtleties, a refined texture, and exceptional depth, making it truly extraordinary.

Thanks to the exceptional terroir and distinct ageing methods, Vega Sicilia Unico will only improve with age, becoming a truly timeless classic.

Tasting Note: The 2011 vintage is rich in concentration, yet maintains an elegant, silky, precise, and deep taste. Unico is an experience that can be enjoyed immediately, although over time it will become truly incredible. Undoubtedly, it is a genuine delight.
