2021 Moorooduc McIntyre Chardonnay
We have long known how good this Chardonnay is with its intense mineral explosion yet set within the most delicious citrus and brioche frame.
Hand harvesting | Whole bunch pressing | 100% wild yeast fermentation in French oak barrels, 10% being new Natural malolactic fermentation (100%) in barrel | 10 months in wood on lees with 1 racking prior to bottling | Light fining and filtration
Tasting Note: Palest lemon in hue, this wine is tightly wound, with savoury lemon barley water and seaspray notes on the nose. As the wine opens up, perfumed aromas of cumquat and yuzu citrus, and a touch of wildflower honey emerge. On the palate the wine is concentrated, powerful and savoury, with salted lemons, white nectarine and flinty, slate notes on the finish.
