2015 Veuve Clicquot Vintage Reserve
In 2015 Veuve Clicquot declared the 67th vintage since 1810, the year when Madame Clicquot created the first vintage champagne.
The predominance of Pinot Noir (50%), the touch of 10% of wines produced in oak casks and the prolonged aging on the lees give the power and aromatic richness so typical of Veuve Clicquot Vintage style. Chardonnay (30%) brings the elegance and finesse of a perfectly balanced wine, while a small percentage of Pinot Meunier (20%) rounds out the blend.
Veuve Clicquot’s Vintage collection is unique for its use of wines vinified and aged in large oak casks (10%), which adds strength and aromatic intensity. The cask-aged wines bring an additional complexity with their spicy notes and subtle roast coffee and toasted aromas.
Tasting Note: Fruit and pastry combine in sparkling perfect. Orange, grapefruit, lemon peel alongside biscuit, brioche,crumble, marmalade, dried apricot, date, roasted almond, hazelnut, honey. If that wasn't enough, the spiced elements evoke warmth, comfort, and elegance.
