2019 Château Peyros Madiran Heritage
Château Peyros is a property that dates back to the 17th century; the current owner, Jean Jacques Lesgourgues, took over it in 1999.
"Peyros" means a stony place in the local Gascony language, which is representative of the terroir. The vineyard got the Terra Vitis and HVE certification in 2018
The 20 hectares of vines are among the southernmost of Madiran. All of which achieved organic certification in 2018.
An age-worthy wine that will benefit from further time in the bottle. Perfectly good now, but potential to develop for 10-15 years.
Tasting Note: A deep and intense ruby-red hue graces the glass. There's intense aromas of black fruits, a hallmark of Tannat. On the palate, it is velvety, evoking subtle notes of cherry, which lingers and refreshes with magnificent length.
