Balanced & Beautiful Marlborough Sauvignon with a Touch of Oak

At Settlement, they take great pride in crafting exquisite wines that reflect the unique character of each individual vineyard block and honour the land from which the fruit is sourced. This dedication to quality and respect for nature is evident in every bottle.

The vineyard sits on silty clay loams, resting on a clay subsoil and benefiting from a free-draining soil profile shaped by the Wairau River's floods. With minimal watering necessary, this terroir produces a distinct, classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The vines, originally imported as UCD1, were renamed Mass Selection and planted between 1990 and 1995.

The wine showcases lively notes of citrus and grapefruit, with a lasting acidity that complements its refined character.

The 2022 vintage began strongly, yet heavy downpours in December and February proved challenging for our vineyard staff to uphold the exceptional standard of our produce. This premium Sauvignon Blanc undergoes machine-harvesting and is then immediately pressed into Stainless Steel tanks. It rests for three days before being transferred for fermentation, with a portion of 15% aged in former French oak. After five months in tanks, it is bottled without fining.
