Discovering French Vineyards, Alsace
The fundamental of blogging is to talk about yourself so I thought I would let you know that I have been away last week, travelling to Alsace with a good friend and great Caviste fan.
We have been both amazed and touched by the generosity of the Alsacien people, different vineyards visited and the 100 and more wines tasted….
It’s an amazing region, well describe by my friend as Disneyland in real life! And I really invite you to discover it first a glass in your hand, trying one of the many grapes Alsace produce: Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, ...
I know that is a lot to try, and don’t get me started on the Grand Cru terroir and the future coming classification of Premier Cru. But it is worth digging as only gold will come out. I have not so far tried a wine in Alsace that I have been disappointed with.
Your journey starts now and the first stop is at Caviste, to plan it with me or my colleagues and try a lovely Pinot Blanc produced by the cooperative of Turckheim. Great floral and white fruits flavours for a dry and gentle palate, only £10.95 a bottle!
