Grapes for the Ortswein Prellenkirchen, Samt&Seide were selectively harvested from a total of twenty separate parcels, all of which are located on the southern slope of the Spitzerberg, in the vineyards Spitzer, Roterd, Panhölzer, Holzweingärten & Kranzen. Blaufränkisch vines between fifteen & thirty-five years old supplied the grapes for this wine, in which the older plants are responsible for the Seide (silk) & the younger vines provide the Samt (velvet). What they all have in common is their precise expression of the limestone soil, the refined berry aromas & refreshing structural acidity.

Tasting Note: Precise and delicate red fruit, vibrant acidity, and velvety tannins. The palate is silky and balanced, with a long, elegant finish that reflects the limestone soils and the meticulous work in vineyard and cellar.

Weingut Dorli Muhr

Dorli Muhr's family had long owned a small parcel of vines in the Ried Roterd, which ultimately inspired her to start her own wine project. In 1995, she began replanting fallow parcels on the Spitzerberg, and in 2002, together with her then-husband Dirk Niepoort, Dorli produced her first wines. Over time, further parcels were acquired, and today the estate covers just over 12 hectares. Dorli’s daughter Anna Niepoort is now also involved in the business.
