Candover Brook | Hampshire, England
Candover Brook is the crown jewel of the Preston Farm estate in Hampshire’s Candover Valley, where regenerative farming and viticulture unite. Founded by Lord Sainsbury and nurtured by his sons Mark and Julian, the five-hectare, south-facing vineyard thrives on chalky subsoil and silty clay loam, at 115–135m above sea level. Every vine is estate-grown, every grape hand-harvested, and sheep graze the inter-row cover crops to enrich soil biology, an approach that has earned the estate Countryside Stewardship’s highest tier and LEAF certification.
Candover Brook is an exciting name on the English Wine Scene Awards and a model of sustainability-driven winemaking.
