Château Rieussec: The Golden Nectar of Sauternes

The 2018 vintage is a vibrant testament to the resilience of both nature and winemaking expertise. A challenging year of frosty winters, rainy springs, and a late burst of noble rot culminated in a wine of stunning complexity.

Hand-harvested in small crates, the grapes are gently pressed in pneumatic presses. Each parcel is vinified separately to preserve its unique character. Following fermentation in carefully selected barrels, the wine matures for 18 months on its lees, allowing the flavours to integrate and develop richness while retaining its signature freshness.

Tasting Note: On the nose, aromas of dried apricots, roasted pineapple, and a whisper of smoky toast create an intoxicating prelude. The palate follows with a luscious harmony of exotic fruits - papaya, mango, and cooked apricots - perfectly balanced by a refreshing lift of acidity. Grilled almonds and hints of crumble linger in a long, luxurious finish.
