2021 Moorooduc Robinson Pinot Noir
Made from selected fruit from a vineyard on the Old Moorooduc Road, owned by Hugh and Isabelle Robinson.
Hand harvested - 100% destemmed - 100% wild yeast primary fermentation - 20 days total on skins - natural malolactic fermentation in barrel - 15 months in French oak, 20% new - no fining and no filtration.
Tasting Note: Bright garnet in colour with a lifted perfume of red cherry, ripe alpine strawberries, dark red rose petals and an earthy, mushroomy, dark cocoa note. On the palate the wine had bright tangy red cherry fruit, some pomegranate crunch and a citrus note. Firm, slinky tannins and bright acidity are in perfect balance. A delicious, explosive mouthful that will develop elegance and more savoury notes with 5-10 years in the cellar.
Origin: Mornington Peninsula, Australia
Blend: Pinot Noir
