Bill's Explorer Case: Spain and France

£369.00
£344.00

We are fortunate enough to get to taste some of the most incredible wines presented to us by experts, enthusiasts and friends.

This is the first such case I have put together and I have gone bold with the inaugural offering put together with one of our importers and friend, Ben Llewelyn.

Regularly we find that the label doesn't match the liquid but the journeys you can have with these wines can be defined as nothing but “The True Adventure of Wine”.

So please read, research, and try to imagine where you could be taken today on our maiden voyage into the territories of the new & exciting from established but regularly misinterpreted parts of Spain and France.

Case Contents:

3x 2023 Domaine le Fay d’Homme Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie: Discover Vincent Caille's exceptional wines, crafted through 30 years of organic and biodynamic viticulture. This vintage, grown on Gniess and Gabbro soils, boasts both concentration and energy. Enjoy now or let it age for 5-10 years. Its complexity rivals Chablis 1er Cru, at half the cost.
3x 2022 Victor Ausejo ‘en Barrica’ Rioja Blanco: Named Tim Atkin MW's young winemaker of the year in 2021, Victor produces elegant wines with balance and freshness. Aged in French and Hungarian oak, the flagship wine from old vine Garnacha Blanco offers complexity and potential to age. A limited number of cases are produced each year, making it a sought-after collectible.
3x 2021 Ca di Mat Valautin Albillo Real: Produced from old bush vines from two parcels at 650 metres. The wine is basket pressed into concrete and 500 litre oak barrels. It is then aged for 12 months and blended prior to bottling and aged for a further period, until it is ready. It has apricot and spice aromatics, with citrus at its core and a well formed, almost Burgundian palate. Drink now.
3x 2021 Ca di Mat Valautin Garnacha: Selected from three vineyards of 80 year old vines on granitic sandy soils. The fruit is whole bunch fermented and basket pressed to concrete and oak, where it is left to age for 12 months. It is light in colour, with hints of wild herb, sweet mountain red fruit and orange peel. The palate is silky with a delicate feel underpinned by concentrated mid fruit, silky tannins, and bright acidity. Drink now to 2028.
