2020 Tinto Pesquera Crianza
Pesquera is acknowledged as one of the greats of Ribera and when we tasted these with their export manager, both Ethan and Mark reckoned them to be worth every penny of joy, complexity and satisfaction.
Made in a traditional style, these wines remain the standard by which all other Ribera del Duero are measured.
The wine was aged 14 months in American oak barrels, then 6 months in bottle before being released.
Tasting Note: Pleasant aromas of fresh red berries, such as raspberries, reveal balsamic accents. The blend creates an intricate and refined wine with a sweet entry to the palate and notable liquorice overtones. The finish is elegant and accented with hints of brioche.
