2021 Moorooduc Robinson Chardonnay
The 2021 season at Moorooduc Estate saw excellent fruit growth, little vine stress, and a calm harvest with beautiful wines.
This is a single vineyard Chardonnay from the 'Robinson' plot.
Vinification: Hand harvesting | Whole bunch pressing | 100% wild yeast fermentation in French oak barrels, no new, 60% second fill oak | Natural malolactic fermentation (100%) in barrel | 10 months in wood on lees with 1 racking prior to bottling | Light fining and filtration.
Tasting Note: Pale gold in colour with a fresh, bright nose of ripe lemon, white blossom and a touch of white peach. On the palate the wine is tangy, with freshly squeezed lemon and grapefruit juice, a sliver of white peach and a hint of toasty, fetta cheese salty savouriness. Long and vibrant on the finish.
