Widow Jane was founded in 2012 in Brooklyn, New York, by Daniel Preston and Vince Oleson with the goal of creating bourbon with a distinctly New York character.
The brand is named after the Widow Jane Mine, a historic limestone quarry in Rosendale, NY, whose stone was used in iconic American landmarks like the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty pedestal. The water used in production is sourced from this mine, providing a soft mouthfeel and subtle sweetness.
