1999 Domaine Rollin Corton Charlemagne
The plot for this wine is split in two parcels: one half is south-facing and situated above the village of Aloxe-Corton while the other half is at the top of a south-west facing slope in Pernand-Vergelesses.
Both areas were planted in the mid-1900s, encompassing a diverse combination of limestone soils and thin marls.
The harvesting process is carried out solely by hand. Slow pressing is utilised to preserve the grapes' distinct character and aromatic elegance. Following gentle clarification, the musts spontaneously ferment in oak barrels, half of which are newly-made. The wine is aged on its lees for 11 to 13 months, then blended and racked. After a gentle filtration, the bottling process is completed.
Origin: Burgundy, France
