2001 Domaine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru 'Poruzot'
Meursault is celebrated for its rich, complex Chardonnay, and Poruzot is one of its distinguished Premier Cru vineyards. Domaine Jobard has a long-standing connection to the appellation, producing traditional, terroir-driven wines that balance richness with structure. The 2001 vintage is now mature, offering a fascinating glimpse of aged Meursault.
Tasting note
Now around 25 years old, expect a mature, golden-hued Chardonnay with aromas of toasted hazelnut, honey, hawthorn blossom and citrus peel. The palate should be rounded and generous, with notes of baked apple, grilled almond and subtle toast, balanced by fresh acidity and a lingering, savoury finish. A beautifully evolved white Burgundy, best enjoyed with roast poultry, creamy sauces or mushroom dishes.
