2014 Marco Abella Loidana Tinto Jeroboam (300cl)

Loidana stands out for its versatility and its ability to adapt to any occasion. Crafted from Carignan, Grenache and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, it delivers a vivid expression of red and black fruits, framed by floral and cedar notes. Aged in French oak, it has a soft texture, vibrant acidity, and a finish that leaves you reaching for another glass.

Winemaking:

The grapes for Loidana are harvested from Marco Abella’s seven mountain estates at altitudes of 500–750 metres. Each plot is vinified separately according to grape variety, soil type, and orientation, ensuring the fullest expression of its unique terroir. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks to preserve freshness and fruit purity, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for 8–10 months. The result is a wine that balances concentration with elegance and a distinctive mineral backbone from Priorat’s llicorella soils.

Tasting Note: Fresh strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and floral hints, complemented by subtle undertones of anise, fennel, and sweet vanilla. Smooth and velvety on the palate, with firm tannins and a touch of earthy schist. Embodying a gritty personality, this wine is pure and delicious with further toasty flavours of mocha, black cherry, raspberry, and cassis.
