The young Paul Zinetti has taken over the winemaking from Benjamin Leroux and has crafted probably the best range of wines from this domaine to date. I felt humbled upon tasting the Clos des Epeneaux which is Grand Cru in all but classification. There has been great attnenion to both the soils and working byodynamically over the past five years. If it were a Grand Cru it would rank in the top 30%. In contrast the Auxey Duresses is like a very good Volnay, while the Volnay 1er Cru combines the charm that accompanies its location with a ruggedness that one expect to find in Pommard.
